Bay Rodders Christmas 2002

This year the committee selected the historic Briars Homestead at Mount Martha on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula as the location for the Bay Rodders Christmas Party. And as it turned out they could not have picked a better spot. The day was very hot and the area that was set aside for us had huge oak trees which gave ample shade.

As usual the club BBQ trailer was put to good use and I’m sure no one went home hungry. The egg and spoon races nicely rounded out the afternoon and gave the kids (big and little) a chance to vent their excitement.

Thanks to the committee, and all those who helped on the day. And a special thanks to Santa and Santa’s helper for making the big trip from the North (Dandenong) Pole.

With the temperature in the high 30’s everyone was making the most of the shade.	We had 16 rods on display.	Old Rudolph looks a little bit like road kill strapped to the front of the mighty Moke.
HO! HO! HO!	Hey Peter, I think Santa’s looking for you.	Julie thinks she recognises a familiar voice.
Finally Santa’s Helper turns up with the goodies.	So Snow White says to Pinochio, tell me some more lies and his nose grew and grew, Santa	Finally it was time for Santa to go.
Junior Rodder Heat 1 in the egg and spoon race.	Round 2 of Junior Rodder saw a nasty accident at the turn. Shane had to retire with a broken fetlock.	Powder Puff Derby with Julie showing a clean pair of heels.
Top Eliminator, and it wasn’t a pretty site. There was a few red lights here.	There was some confusion on the turn with Aarons egg finishing some 100 metres away.	As the day wore on the bullshit was flowing thick and fast.
